Cold Strawberries Collective

Welcome to Cold Strawberries Collective (CSC). We’re an artists’ web spun by creators of marginalized genders and identities dedicated to liberation through storytelling. Liberation is, as bell hooks says, freedom from the imperialist, white-supremacist, capitalist patriarchy, and to us liberation also includes freedom from the past, environmental ruin, and isolated experience. We believe storytelling—with or without narrative—connects our communities and allows artists to relate their authentic truths, spinning us all ever closer to our ultimate goal: liberty. Each Berry is a force of nature in and of themselves; our members know we’re on a ravenous route to create a lasting legacy, but choose to fight through thunderstorms and stomping boots to create new narratives on our own terms. However, we know we are stronger, fiercer, and harder-to-fuck-with together. As a tight-knit community, there’s always a Berry nearby with a first-aid kit and warm fire. We use our collective privileges to smash down the gates attempting to divide our cluster. Berries understand that a win for one of us is a win for us all—so we cheerlead each other to victory. We’re weaving an edgy, countercultural tapestry to create the intersectional representation and support we desperately needed during our early youth. We use our biannual alt mag to highlight art, prose, poetry in print; meanwhile in cyberspace, the Berry Blog is where we take control of our own stories and talk about technoculture, explore consciousness, flourish within diverse communities, explain how we build our creative careers, and teach you how to “do-it-yourself.” Some of our Berries offer creative services on a freelance basis, as well, and are available for commissions! As our Berry community creates both individually and together, we put together the Strawberry Store to house our sustainably-focused publications, prints, accessories and vintage goods.
