Collective Learning Academy

Collective Learning Academy (CLA) is a non-traditional, accredited school dedicated to empowering students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and independently. Founded in 2017, CLA serves students ages 10–22 through The Academy, and young adults 22 and older through our Transition Program. Our mission is to create a learning environment where every student is seen, supported, and set up for lifelong success. At the heart of our success is our exceptional team of certified educators and staff. Each teacher brings deep expertise, compassion, and creativity to the classroom—delivering a 1:3 teacher-to-student ratio that allows for truly individualized instruction. Our faculty’s dedication ensures every student thrives in a setting tailored to their unique learning style and goals. The Academy provides an accredited K–12 education for students who may not thrive in larger school settings. With a focus on academic achievement and experiential learning, our students gain the confidence and skills needed to pursue post-secondary education or transition into adulthood. CLA graduates have gone on to attend Auburn University and the University of Georgia’s Destination Dawgs program. Our Transition Program extends support to young adults seeking to build independent living and workforce readiness skills. In 2024, we introduced our Model Studio Apartment, offering hands-on training in essential life skills such as cooking, laundry, and personal organization—empowering students to live and work with greater independence. We also offer a 6-week Summer Program emphasizing community-based learning and social development, helping students stay engaged and supported year-round.
