Colleges and Careers (CC) is a 'for profit' organization in the business of ‘informal education’, which in this case, refers to a learning experience outside of the formal education system which seeks to develop a specific set of skills and attributes relating to a specific industry, sector, or cause. In this case, our focus is on the core skills required to be successful in applying to universities in the UK & US, and graduate jobs in the UK. The core skills we have identified are- Research Skills - Writing for applications (which is a separate art from any other form of writing)- Verbal communication skills (including phone and in person interviews)- Physical (non verbal) communication skills (body language) CC has developed a methodology for imparting these skills to candidates, and will run concurrent college and career programmes each academic year via a virtual classroom.
