Colombo Tea Traders’ Association (CTTA) was formed in 1984 as an APEX body that has legitimate ownership of Sri Lanka’s weekly Tea Auction. The Association regulates and monitors the affairs of the Tea Trade and conducts the weekly Tea Auction of 6 million kilos of tea under the aegis of the Sri Lanka Tea Board and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. With an aprox. annual income to the Sri Lanka coffers of USD 1.3Bn from tea exports sold at the e-auction.
