We are a vibrant community dedicated to supporting underrepresented students in Computer Science, Technology, and related fields. Vision: To create a future where Black and Latinx technologists lead innovation and contribute to a more inclusive tech industry. Today, Black and Hispanic professionals make up 31% of the U.S. workforce but hold only 12% of STEM jobs and an even smaller percentage of technical roles in leading companies. In the tech sector, Black professionals represent just 4% of the workforce, while Hispanic professionals account for 8%. At Baruch College, these disparities reflect the limited representation of underrepresented students in technology programs. Our chapter is addressing these gaps by: Building Community: Creating a safe and inclusive space for students to connect, learn, and grow as technologists. 🤝 Providing Tools for Success: Offering mentorship, career workshops, technical skill-building resources, and academic support to help students achieve their goals. Fostering Industry Connections: Collaborating with industry leaders and recruiters to prepare students for internships and full-time roles in the tech field. Through our efforts, we aim to increase enrollment, retention, and success rates of Black and Hispanic students in technology programs at Baruch College. Together, we’re shaping a more diverse and equitable tech industry, one student at a time.
