Empowering and supporting families to make the right decisions in NICU and beyond. Colourful Beginnings' vision is to create a world where families with premature and sick babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are provided with hope, love and comfort at every point of need - while they are in the NICU, after discharge and beyond. Our mission is to: 1.) Raise awareness and educate NICU parents and the general public about the NICU experience and its effects on families. 2.) Support current NICU families by sending free Treasure Boxes of essential items and hold peer support groups for current and alumni NICU parents. 3.) Partner with maternal care providers to include preterm birth education during antenatal contacts. 4.) Empower significant others or birthing partners to actively champion and advocate the need of mothers when required.
