Columbia Pops
What is Columbia Pops? In 2014, a group of Columbia undergraduates established Columbia Pops. Entirely student-run, the goal is to engage students not only as performance artists but also as conductors, arrangers, leaders, and much more. Columbia Pops welcomes members from all four undergraduate schools and the ensemble currently boasts a diverse group of talented musicians and is committed to performing student arrangements alongside published works. What do we do? Columbia Pops plays a diverse repertoire to include film and television scores, Broadway hits, jazz tunes, popular classical works, hip-hop charts, original student works, and more! The orchestra holds weekly rehearsals for concerts at the end of each semester. Columbia Pops-icles chamber ensembles organize their own rehearsals and perform for a multitude of campus events throughout the year. If you are musically inclined, consider joining us!
