Common Heritage Foundation

Common Heritage Foundation (CHF), registered in Nigeria (RC 12361) in 1997 as a non-profit research organisation to co-produce knowledge with end-users for improving equitable community access to health and education. CHF has collaborated with the World Health Organisation, the Gates Foundation, the World Bank and partnered with institutions including Emory University, MPH interns training in grassroot community experience. We have also partnered with Michigan State University, governments, and communities to develop strategies for improving access to health and continuity of care among the most marginalised populations, including those in conflict situations and forgotten spaces, such as pastoralists. Our team contributed to the UK-AID-funded EDOREN (Education Data, Research, and Evaluation in Nigeria) and is currently the Nigerian partner in the FCDO-funded Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis (ERICC) that the International Rescue Committee (IRC) leads. CHF is a significant contributor to the development of community-directed intervention systems for healthcare delivery in Africa, and our research product has recently been utilised for education policy reforms. Our education research in emergencies encompasses COVID-19 and education, as well as health emergencies, including polio assessments.
