Communication For Development Foundation Uganda Cdfu

With 20 years of existence, Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) is a Ugandan based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has become a one-stop centre for development communication services in the country. We envision “a transformed society where individuals take action to improve their lives.” We exist to design and deliver communication programs tailored towards sustainable development. CDFU’s work influences adoption of recommended behaviors, practices and utilization of services. We have extensive experience in awareness raising, demand creation, provision of psychosocial support and mobilizing communities for different services as well as programs. Our work positively influences the social development of men, women, youth and persons with disabilities in Uganda and the entire East African region. We provide a range of specialized and professional Social Behavior Change (SBC), Community Engagement, Psychosocial Support and Capacity Strengthening services. With offices based in Kampala, CDFU implements projects country wide utilizing existing structures that include district-based NGOs, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and community-based networks. CDFU’s main activities include: design of communication and advocacy strategies addressing health and development issues using world-proven processes and methodologies; development and broadcast of radio and TV programmes; development and production of tool kits, job aids and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials (including concept design, pre-testing and production of print ready materials). Materials we produce include posters, flip charts, leaflets, comic books and fact sheets. In addition, CDFU carries out community mobilisation and empowerment in partnership with districts, leaders, CBOs and networks using participatory and enter-educate approaches to promote positive behaviour and social change, participation in civic processes and utilisation of services.
