Communities For Development

Communities for Development was created in 2014 to support rural communities in Uganda to achieve sustainable living conditions and relieve poverty by improving the financial conditions of the rural communities in order to cover their basic needs. We provide them with training in microfinance to help them to acquire the necessary tools and knowledge to improve their living conditions. We make this happen by creating saving groups and using Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methods. Our key objectives are- Provide training for the communities to help them acquire professional skills in the areas of microfinance, education, health and shelter- Improve quality of life- Increase employment rates- Enable the community to integrate economically into the wider area. Our values are- To be Sustainable, Communities for Development supports sustainable projects that would help individuals be self sufficient - To be transparent, Communities for Development has a transparent approach to everything we do and publis our finances and projects on our website - To be efficient and effective, Communities for Development will invest its resources in the most appropriate way to support the communities- The benefits of our programmes are not only financial but have a wider impact. Weekly meetings and training, strengthens the communities and provides opportunities for personal growth in the development of individual business skills. Those who have successful businesses also reach out to help others, so that the entire community benefits. One of the most vital solutions is for people to be able to generate income as an alternative, to reduce the reliance on their land and natural resources around better homes, better diet, better health and better opportunities.
