Community Aids Response Care

Community AIDS Response (CARe) is a non-profit organisation launched in CARe started as a concerned community’s response to the needs of people living with and impacted by HIV/AIDS. Today, CARe continues to provide quality, holistic care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. However, just as the needs of the communities in which CARe works have evolved, so have the challenges of providing quality, holistic healthcare. CARe has grown in stride with these challenges and has expanded its services to address a range of communicable and chronic diseases, their drivers, and the methods used to bring individuals into contact with a point of care. Through its dedicated team of professionals, lay caregivers, volunteers, funders, and supporters, CARe is able to identify the communities that need our services most and deliver care via established clinics, mobile vans and the front door. At CARe, we believe a healthier Southern Africa comes from within. We champion utilizing thoughtful, evidence-based intervention strategies to empower communities at all levels so that individuals may live long, fulfilling lives. We build the capacity of the communities we work in through training, employment opportunities, health education, and support. We aim to give the individuals living in the most at-risk populations the hope, economic opportunity, and the cultural context necessary to make choices over HIV/AIDS and other communicable and chronic diseases.
