Community Rides

Join us in supporting Community Rides, a dedicated nonprofit organization serving the Troy community, as we embark on the Fleet Renewal Project. Over the past decade, Community Rides has been a lifeline for low-income individuals, ensuring reliable and affordable transportation to and from work. With the generous support of local grants from the Troy Foundation, United Way, and Miami County Foundation, we provided 6,020 rides in 2022, reaching rides in 2023. As our services expanded, so did the demand for transportation. Operating three vans covering First, Second, and Third shifts, we've become indispensable for individuals relying on us for safe and affordable commuting. However, our current fleet, each van accumulating over miles, is in urgent need of replacement. Vehicle maintenance, the second-largest expense after payroll, poses a significant challenge, leading to increased downtime for repairs and the regrettable need to turn away riders. The Fleet Renewal Project aims to purchase a new fleet of vans, ensuring that Community Rides can effectively meet the transportation needs of our community. Each van is estimated to cover miles per year, providing a reliable means of transportation for those who depend on us.
