Companions is transforming lives through innovative housing, supported living, employment and meaningful day supports. Services are provided for adult participants in both the traditional and self-directed waiver models. We set ourselves apart as a forward-thinking organization that allows differences to be celebrated. We are passionate about adding value to people’s lives through engagement and collaboration. Together we identify the best solutions for each person, keeping in mind that many times the best solutions require a level of creativity not typical of traditional service models. Companions’ services challenge longstanding beliefs that people are incapable of financial freedom and independence. With the right combination of life skills coaching, earned income, rent subsidies, and enabling technology, people are rising to meet expectations, moving out of family homes or group settings into homes of their own. The men and women supported live vibrantly in own homes with one or more roommates, and with as much staffing supports as they choose. They engage actively in the community through gainful employment, social participation, volunteering, and lifelong learning. Companions is the provider of choice for self-advocates looking to create a good, vibrant life for themselves and families seeking innovative supports for their loved one.
