Assessing people and tasks fairly and correctly: that is the goal of every assessor or teacher. But how qualitative are these assessments? Teachers have to give scores on students' works that are often impossible to assess objectively. Research shows that on a 20-point scale teachers sometimes differ by 8 points when they assess the same student. Why, for example, does one piece of work deserve a six and another a seven? Comproved has been researching that question for years. As a spin-off of the University of Antwerp we help companies and organisations to qualitatively assess and simplify complex assessments, selections or decisions. To do so Comproved has developed a scientifically underpinned software tool based on comparative judgment. After all, the way people make decisions is always by making comparisons. Our Comparing tool is fast, user-friendly and works very simple: we always show two 'works' and ask you to choose the best one. By comparing all 'works' several times and involving enough evaluators, a reliable ranking is created which you can link to scores. The result?
