Network for those keen to learn how to code and volunteer with older people to increase their digital fluency Our aim: to improve digital skills across two generations -Volunteering with older people in community centres to set up, navigate and use devices and apps -Volunteers will receive coding lessons Why is this important? •Increasing digital fluency amongst the older generation is especially needed right now whilst so many older people are isolated and don’t have access to (or don’t know how to use) smartphones, messaging apps, video conferencing etc. •For the volunteers, coding is a valuable skill in any domain •Together: forming relationships with different people at this time and also it’s really rewarding helping older people with technology, it’s a real need at the moment and can really make a difference to people’s lives.
