exists to build meaningful relationships that foster safe, caring and whole communities. The organization employees three basic strategies. The Friendship Houses are safe homes in vulnerable neighborhoods where neighbors can build relationships with one another and are empowered to achieve basic goals in the areas of community, education, leadership, housing, health, safety, and meaningful work. A full-time staff person lives in the house year round with his/her family. The Haven House Strategy brings together caring residents who voluntarily reach out to their neighbors. By building relationships on their block, Haven House Leaders are remaking our city one city block at a time. The Caring Team consists of individuals, businesses, churches, civic groups, governments, and others to build a safer, stronger, healthier city.
