Construction Service Workers (CSW) holds the distinction of being the only African American woman owned and operated business to provide staffing in the construction industry. CSW is certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and an Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise(UDBE) in 25 states, holds a nationwide 8a SBA certification as a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), and a supplier clearinghouse certification from the Utilities Commission as a Woman Minority Owned Business (WMBE) in the state of California. CSW’s focus is to provide partnership opportunities for both workers and employers in the public sector. The company provides temporary employment placement and has a mission statement to support disadvantaged workers in the construction industry. In addition, CSW provides several complementary services to its business partners including Labor Compliance education, Mentor-Protégé development, and Outreach. CSW differs from other temporary and permanent placement agencies because its workers are in the disadvantaged population. The company believes that society should make a concerted effort to re-introduce disadvantaged workers into the working population.
