Cool Arts Society

Cool Arts Society is a registered charitable organization based in Kelowna, BC, dedicated to providing inclusive and meaningful fine art opportunities for adults with developmental and diverse abilities. Our programs are rooted in creativity, accessibility, and community. Through weekly art classes, community art nights, partnerships, and exhibitions, we create safe and welcoming spaces where artists can explore their creative voice, build confidence, and form lasting social connections. Cool Arts Society is powered by a strong and committed community. Our work is supported by passionate volunteers, some of whom have been involved for over a decade, alongside a small but dedicated professional staff and a volunteer Board of Directors who guide the organization with care and vision. Founded in 2003 by Sara McDonald, Cool Arts Society was created in response to the lack of accessible artistic opportunities for adults with disabilities. Since then, the organization has grown into a recognized leader in inclusive arts education. Today, our artists and their work are celebrated across British Columbia and beyond, with exhibitions and partnerships including the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna Art Gallery, Kelowna Museum, Vernon Public Art Gallery and the FINA Gallery at UBC Okanagan. Our artists have also participated in international initiatives such as the Paralym Art World Cup, showcasing their talent on a global stage. At Cool Arts Society, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to create, belong, and be seen.
