Copper Canyon Trails
The Copper Canyon, locally known as the Barranca del Cobre, in Chihuahua, Mexico, is square miles of natural beauty. The region is also known as the Sierra Tarahumara, named for the Indians who inhabit these rugged mountains, and are world renowned for their endurance in running. The area is traversed by the Chihuahua al Pacifico train from sea level in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, to over on the continental divide. Copper Canyon Trails escorts groups from the coast to the canyon rim by train, and then by foot down a vertical mile to the Urique River for a unique 6-day burro supported camping trip. Our 10 day trips let visitors experience a Mexico that few people know exists, but no one forgets.
