Coral Catch: Changing one women, one reef, one island at a time 🪸 Our mission: To empower 100 Indonesian women by 2030 to pursue a career in marine conservation by giving them a coral restoration scholarship. Our vision: Create a network of empowered Indonesian women working with their community to protect and restore the coral reefs of the country. Coral Catch is an award-winning scholarship program, but more than that, we’re a growing movement of women leading the way in marine conservation across Indonesia. Through our immersive nine-week programme, we equip Indonesian women with the diving skills, scientific knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to restore and protect coral reefs. But our impact goes far beyond the reef. We foster confidence, leadership, and community action, ensuring that conservation is inclusive, local, and diverse. What makes Coral Catch different? Our holistic approach. We don’t just teach skills, we create space for women to feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead. Our programme builds a strong, supportive network of ocean stewards who drive meaningful change in their communities and careers. As climate change and biodiversity loss threaten Indonesia’s marine ecosystems, we believe the future of conservation must be diverse, equitable, and community-driven. Our theory of change is simple: when women are empowered, ecosystems and communities thrive. By breaking down gender barriers and opening doors to youth leadership, we’re not just restoring reefs, we’re reimagining what conservation leadership looks like.
