Cornerstone Capital Limited is a boutique financial advisory and seed capital raising business. Having worked very closely with Pension Funds and other Institutional Investors over the last thirty years, we have listened carefully throughout this time, to their evolving needs and requirements. Investors have always sought alternative investments offering superior risk-adjusted returns that provide the all-important portfolio diversification, but those characteristics alone are no longer enough. Cornerstone is therefore focused on sourcing niche alternative investment opportunities that also meet the following investor criteria: • Strategies with clear responsible & sustainable investment objectives; • Strong asset-backing and solid annuity income stream characteristics • Businesses that have a tangibly positive social or economic impact • Better-aligned compensation models that reward Manager success • Stronger governance, facilitating increased investor oversight and control We focus upon identifying experienced and successful Managers with compelling and scalable business models. Additional sourcing criteria are strategies with tangible asset-backing and annuity income streams, which address a pressing societal need. We advise on structuring, as and where appropriate, before proceeding to make targeted introductions to our long-established network of Institutional Investors that are actively seeking to diversify their exposures. Cornerstone is therefore engaged in a two-step process- first identifying a genuinely impactful strategy, which can be structured so as to be readily investible by Pension Funds and other Institutional Investors- and then furnishing Management with the seed or acceleration capital required to launch or transform the business. To ensure that our interests are fully aligned, Cornerstone is always compensated by the Manager and primarily by compensation structures tied to the ultimate success of the underlying strategy.
