Cornerstone Preschool

At Cornerstone Preschool Childcare Center, our classroom is a carefully prepared environment that reflects a child’s inner desire to learn. Everything within the environment needs to be beautiful and appealing to a child. All Materials are designed for the youngest of children to explore, using their senses to identify and discover different fundamental cornerstones of higher learning including Measurement, Size and Colour Discrimination, Mathematics, Language, and Daily Life Skills. The environment and the Teacher are there to aid the children to become self- disciplined, independent, peaceful, problem-solving, and caring members of a community. Cornerstone Preschool Childcare is committed to creating rich learning environments for children to reach their full potential in alignment with four foundational conditions that are outlined in the Ministry of Education’s, “How Does Learning Happen?” Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years Our Registered Early Childhood Educators and Education Assistants understand the importance of allowing the children to explore their environment freely without hindrance from adults. Although they are readily available to assist when the child struggles, they are observers and understand the outcome of each experience, and where to take the child next to stimulate and assist in each child’s personal growth.
