Corredor Cultural

The Corredor Cultural is an independent youth organization that aims to democratize access to the city of Rio de Janeiro, and to the cultural spaces of this, for young people from the West Zone. We believe that art and culture are fundamental instruments for social transformation, so through them we aim to transform a territory in which violence, misery and social inequality proliferate. We realize, however, that due to the geographical distance and lack of infrastructure and technical support, youth in the West Zone are prevented from occupying a space that is rightly its, not reaching certain areas of the city that historically concentrate greater capital and, therefore, more cultural and artistic initiatives. In such a way, the Corredor Cultural arises to plead this insertion and connection of the periphery to the art and culture of Rio, offering the necessary means for this. After all, the city is ours! Are we going to occupy it together?
