They say that any idea starts with a dream. Our idea started with an attempt to address the problem. Cortae was founded with two goals: to provide high quality cosmetic products at fair and transparent prices and to find solutions to social problems by sharing our profit from each unit sold. Dubbed "liquid gold", argan oil has been growing in popularity in the $430 billion dollar personal-care market. Unfortunately, not all products are created equal. Even the products that are labeled as "100% Pure Argan Oil" do not produce the same results as expected. The law allows for pure oils to be diluted with lesser quality oils of up to 49%. Essentially, the implication is that the claim “100% pure” may appear on the bottle label with as little as 51% essential oil. Moreover, even if a product is “pure” in the sense of not being diluted, it is possible that it may still be adulterated with synthetic chemicals for scent, residual pesticides and/or solvents. At Cortae, we are challenging this problem by providing 100% unadulterated pure oil that has its natural nutty scent, distinct only to argan oil and NEVER mix or substitute any contents of the product with any other oil or preservatives. We are committed to adhere to the highest standards of producing argan oil. Therefore, every batch of oil we sell is tested by EACCE in Morocco to ensure eligibility for export.
