Sometimes names can be serendipitous—somehow meant to be. In Nancy Councill’s case, it’s particularly appropriate that she’s become an expert in a field that demands understanding, careful consideration and invested recommendations. Although the spelling of our company name isn’t “counsel” exactly, that’s precisely what Nancy and her team provide (plus, we like to think the distinct spelling reflects a distinct approach, one you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else). Nancy knows what’s needed to help clients thrive—she’s worked client-side herself. Before founding Councill in Nancy served as Vice President of Risk Management for Integrated Health Services (IHS), a company which operates nursing homes, sub-acute care, assisted living and independent living facilities and also offers rehab, home health care, hospice, mobile x-ray, lithotripsy and other ancillary services. Nancy’s responsibilities as VP included oversight of the property casualty insurance programs and the safety & loss control for all divisions. She also completed due diligence for acquisitions. And prior to IHS, Nancy spent 13 years with Travelers Insurance, working with both small and Fortune 500 companies in varied industries. We’re invested in your success.
