Courage While Creating

Courage While Creating was designed to meet the unique needs, abilities and interests for all participants to allow everyone to feel confident within themselves while creating art. I’m committed to helping clients increase their awareness about the profoundly positive impacts of creative experiences for individuals while they overcome barriers and help improve clients self confidence, artistic expression and skill building during every workshop. I want my clients to feel motivated to be involved in expressive arts interventions to improve their better quality of life. Supporting clients' strengths, values and goals is very important to me as a role of a RT that I take very seriously in ensuring my clients' needs are met. Getting clients involved in art based programs will have a meaningful impact on their lives. I want to use my background and skills of expressive arts and Recreation Therapy to empower others to live their best life no matter the disabilities and/or mental health challenges the person may be facing. I believe that all people can be successful in life; they just need the right tools and guidance. I am confident with the knowledge that I have gained over the last 2 years being educated and working in the RT environment. I have the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, using adaptive interpersonal communication strategies while using creativity to overcome challenges. No matter what level of artistic abilities participants have, anyone can participate and be successful in these programs. I have designed programs for individual of all ages and abilities such as older age clients in communities such as retirement, LTC, and assisted-living. These programs can be beneficial for clients that need support in their mental health journey. It's important for people to know that art is truly for everyone and any person can create something truly beautiful; they just need to find the courage within themselves.
