It's important to note that I love condos! I love the lifestyle, the growing cities that support them, the developers that build them, the realtors that sell them and the 3rd parties who support each one of us and make it possible for us to live in them! That is why I am passionate about this important message and mission. However, many of the messages you hear from me might not sound like I love condos. These messages are only to help buyers and owners protect themselves so they can have the same experience as every other homeowner. The first condos started in 1960. With aging and deteriorating buildings, underfunded and even unfunded reserves, minimal industry knowledge and training, and inconsistent regulations, condo investing is only going to become more of a risk for consumers if we don’t get in front of things sooner than later; from a financial, safety and liability perspective. Because we have no formal condo training available to date in America, along with limited and disjointed legislation from state to state, my goal is to use my 15+ years of condo industry experience to help educate and guide anyone interested in the condo industry, whether that’s a buyer, seller, real estate broker, investor, developer, home owner associations and their board members, or vendors who want to specialize in condos such as mortgage and insurance brokers, property managers, appraisers and inspectors, and even those marketing condos such as stagers, photographers and videographers. The ultimate goal is to protect condo consumers until the appropriate fiduciary, education and legislation is in place in America, as it is in Canada.
