In September 2009, Cox Media Group, Inc. announced the formation of a new unit & -strategy-team) which transformed the separate digital business groups (including COXnet) into a more focused, efficient and unified platform supporting all Cox Media Group newspaper, radio and TV businesses. Piror to that, COXnet provided strategy, support, and solutions for digital initiatives at Cox Newspapers, one of the nation’s largest and most respected newspaper publishing companies. The company supported more than 30 Web sites in the areas of content, technology development, site hosting and infrastructure, product development, project management, advertising creative, advertising operations, audience development and metrics, advertising projects, vendor analysis, and marketing training and advertising support. It also included a print component. COXnet was founded in 1996 and was based in Atlanta, Georgia. The company operated as a subsidiary of Cox Newspapers, Inc.
