Creative Compassion offers affordable housing opportunities in the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee by building new homes, maintaining homes, and other housing programs. We seek to not only provide necessary housing but to also enhance community stability. These efforts are crucial for the social and economic development of the area. Creative Compassion was founded in 1989 by Michael and Judy Smathers. Their shared dream was to provide for the physical, right-now needs of Cumberland County and surrounding areas through housing economic development. Because of the perseverance of the Smathers and all those who have provided support throughout the years, Creative Compassion maintains its ready position to respond to housing needs through our programs.
