CreositySpace K-5 Science Units Do More Than Just Check Boxes - Any curriculum can create lesson plans to teach science concepts, but CreositySpace has the power to change how students see themselves using and working with science every day. CreositySpace is a unique inquiry-based, learner-directed NGSS / NYSSLS curriculum that connects ALL K-5 students to science through the stories and innovations of today's young entrepreneurs on the front lines of tackling complex global challenges. Each unit of the 16-unit sequence * Capitalizes on students' natural creativity and curiosity at a time when they ask,"What do I want to do when I grow up?"* Gives students the opportunity to see themselves as part of the STEM community/innovation economy, even if they don't see themselves as a scientist or and engineer,* Introduces authentic relevant experiences,* Integrates science into other subjects like ELA & social studies, and * Engages students in writing, reading, critical thinking & collaboration. CreositySpace designs each unit to give teachers the flexibility to tailor each unit according to the needs of their classroom-and easily incorporate blended learning strategies-while meeting science standards, and to facilitate deeper thinking and understanding around science concepts.
