The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy (CU-SCFA) is an umbrella phrase for a consortium of two departments at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. • Department of Commerce • Department of Professional Studies Department of Commerce: The Department of Commerce (DOC) which commenced along with the establishment of Christ College on 15 July 1969, is by 2021, one of the oldest and the largest departments at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore. It provides a proficient environment to nurture commerce professional with a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to society with commitment and integrity. The department offers BCom, BCom Honours, BCom (Strategic Finance Honours), MCom and Doctoral programme in Commerce. Besides this, it also offers various value-added professional programmes and certifications through recognized global bodies such as the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) USA, the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) UK and the Insurance Institute of India. Department of Professional Studies: The Department of Professional Studies (DPS) was established in the year 2002 as Centre for Career Advancement (CCA), and later upgraded to Department of Professional Studies in 2007. The department offers some of the most unique and specialized programmes in the field of commerce and management. All the programmes of the department are benchmarked with international professional bodies and industry experts through a meticulous mapping of the curriculum and innovative evaluation patterns. The department also aims at professional training for a wider career opportunity. The Department offers B COM (Finance and Accountancy), BBA (Finance and Accountancy), B Com Professional, B COM (International Finance), M Sc (Innovation and Entrepreneurship), M COM (International Finance), M Sc (Actuarial Science) and MA (Public Policy).
