Cuny Climate Scholars

The CUNY Immersive Research Experience – Climate Scholars (CIRE–CS) program is committed to the growth of CUNY students as engaged citizens and future leaders. The program provides opportunities for underrepresented students to prepare for careers in climate change mitigation and resilience. CIRE–CS connects students with faculty, scientists, nonprofit leaders, and corporate experts across diverse disciplines and institutions. The program combines weekly climate-focused didactic sessions, a faculty-mentored research placement, and an internship with our NGO or corporate partners. Climate Scholars participate in networking events, and leadership opportunities, including presentations to STEP middle- and high-school students, FYS hosting, research symposiums, and conferences.
