Most heatsinks don’t fail because of modeling, simulation, analysis, or optimization. They fail because the extrusion design, tooling, machining, finishing, and delivery break down in the real world. That failure usually looks the same every time: • Critical dimensions drift out of spec • Parts warp after machining • Cosmetics get damaged • Anodize ruins appearance or size • Burrs and edges break assembly CurrahTech focuses on extruded heatsinks for power electronics that actually make it to production. We start with extrusion designs that can run clean, hold tolerance, and protect die life. Profiles are reviewed for metal flow, symmetry, fin thickness, and features that quietly kill tooling or create distortion later. The goal is simple: parts that can be made again and again without surprises. Tooling is treated as a production asset, not a prototype expense. Die life, wear patterns, and process stability matter as much as the first sample. If a profile will eat dies, create drift, or require constant babysitting, it gets fixed early—before it becomes a supply chain problem. Machining and finishing are managed around what really breaks programs: critical dimensions, flatness, hole position, cosmetic surfaces, and post-anodize change. We collect data on critical dimensions to catch drift early, before it becomes scrap, rework, or missed builds. Anodize is handled as a process, not just a color. Rack strategy, contact points, cosmetic zones, and dimensional shift after finish are planned up front so parts look right and still fit. We work with customers managing both volume and mix—from early prototypes to long-running production, and from one heatsink to dozens across multiple programs. Some parts are cosmetic, some are hidden. Some are simple, some are painful. Our job is to make all of it boring: fewer vendors, fewer surprises, fewer late nights. We don’t sell simulations. We deliver parts that run, ship, and keep programs alive.
