CUSOP (Payments) Limited is a ‘not for profit’, independent company that provides an electronic payments service for the credit union movement in Ireland. Established in 2013, it is currently developing a range of services that include: •Improved cost efficient electronic payments •A platform to develop debit card and internet banking products •Better value for Credit Union members’ costs for payment transactions CUSOP is owned by CUSOP Trust, on behalf of participating Credit Unions. The Irish League of Credit Unions and the individual Credit Unions are each represented on the CUSOP board by one Trustee and one Director. CUSOP is licenced and regulated by the Central Bank as a ‘Payments Institution’ with independent governance. With support from a large number of credit unions throughout Ireland, CUSOP is currently bringing on board credit unions around the country and working with them to provide a much needed electronic payment system.
