D&t Trust

Deloitte & Touche Trust (Pty) Limited (“D&T”), commenced business as an administrator of companies in liquidation, insolvent estates, judicial managers and receivers for creditors during the course of 1979, as a division of Deloitte & Touche, one of the big four international auditing firms. It grew, both in stature and in reputation, as one of the leaders and beacons in this sometimes-murky market sector. Due to global trends, a decision was taken by Deloitte & Touche re inter-alia independence considerations during 2003, to exit this market. With the enthusiastic support of incumbent management and staff, the shares in D&T have been acquired by TW van den Heever (at that stage a partner of Deloitte), and the business was renamed D&T Trust (Pty) Limited. We have furthermore become involved in taking appointments as Curator Bonis for the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority, and have emerged as market leaders in this field. We also attend to matters on a consultancy basis where clients might request assistance on credit management and risk mitigation. The staff comprises of seasoned, enthusiastic and dedicated professionals, from both the legal and accounting disciplines. We are therefore one of the only players in the market that can offer a wide range of in-house expertise. We are focused on the advancement and development of Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (“PDI’S”), by training and mentoring.
