We have developed a unique methodology to improve patient access and experience. We use sensors to observe the movement of patients and staff unobtrusively (no PHI) to understand the bottlenecks and inefficiencies in patient flow. This combined with EHR data helps optimize schedule templates, clinic layouts and staffing to increase access and reduce wait time while in clinic. Optimizing scheduling templates opens up hidden clinical capacity and reduces patient wait times. Essentially, we address the capacity side of the patient access challenge
