Dan Franch

Dan Franch OÜ is a one-man show that I started in 2019 after working at a language company for two years. Prior to that, I was a school teacher for almost 20 years in six countries on three continents. I stepped away from that profession in 2017. While at the language school, it dawned on me that I could do the same thing on my own. “Fewer hours, better income” is how my boss at the time put it. He was right. Being my own boss has freed up time for me to be with my family more and have more of my own time while still doing what I love doing; working with people who want to develop their English. I’ve moved from working only with children and teens to now working exclusively with adults. It’s a whole new ballgame and a welcome change. I’m no stranger to change, having lived in six countries and traveled to more than 50 more. My company is changing too. From only tutoring groups and individuals to now also providing content writing and copy editing services such as writing LinkedIn profiles & posts for individuals and companies + copy editing documents for companies. I couldn’t be happier… or more surprised at how well my professional life has evolved. From volunteer teaching at a fishing school in Morocco in the mid-90s prior to the Internet to now running my own small company here in Estonia, where I can work with anyone around the world at any time, I – along with technology - have come a long way. I’m also following in the footsteps of my parents, who ran a small mom-n-pop shop trucking business near Chicago for a couple of decades.
