Dark Allies

This experimental film is about a contemporary fairy tale set in NYC. The city is filled with strangers and this project is exploring the connection and bond between strangers. Important to this short is showing the energy and drive of NYC, as well the challenge and the struggle to be thrown into a foreign environment and to succeed within it. The film is a collaboration of artists using parallel themes of "the mask" to express different perspectives on culture and identity. This story will follow the pilgrimage of each artist and their personified mask through the lurid and anonymous streets of New York City. Each artist will develop their ideas separately. As a unifying element, a life-sized boat will appear and the mystical creatures will assemble around it. We are planning to shoot in mid/end of August and we need to raise more money for the production. At this moment we are preparing and building the masks and costumes for the creatures. The life-sized boat is already built and ready to roll.
