Dark Soldier Design

Dark Soldier Design (DSD) is a member-owned special effects and makeup design company founded in 2007 by an airbrush artist and a stage performer which has grown into a multi-faceted and versatile corps of artists with a wide range of specialties. Members/artists come from a wide range of backgrounds - from digital art and engineering to fine arts and stage performance - and each brings a unique set of skills and vision that enables the company to be versatile enough to transition from film and print projects to live performance events seamlessly. DSD employs a wide variety of techniques on every project and encourages the constant learning of its members, from which comes the company motto -"Yes, we can do that." If the proposed project requires a method not currently in practice in the company, members will learn how to do it - and quickly. Members also teach each other their own specialties, ensuring an overall capability and aptitude across the board. This enables the company to have consistent and constant availability for any and all projects that come its way. DSD prides itself on its homegrown roots, which facilitate its ability to produce high-quality results for minimum cost. The company buys primarily from local suppliers, which also helps to drive down the cost to clients, and also helps strengthen ties within the community. As most of DSD's clients are local, it is also much more efficient, and leads to shorter resupply times. Finally, and most importantly, all members of DSD love what they do. All members are intensely creative and share a passion for designing and implementing all the tools of the trade they can get their hands on. They are all on the lookout for new projects and are constantly seeking out new techniques to practice, master, and utilize. Their passion, dedication, and love of their work goes so far that several of them have even performed in the projects they were working on.
