Darlington Cares

In early 2012, a number of leading businesses met to discuss how they could maximise the impact of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity in Darlington. As a result, Darlington Cares was established in October 2012. Since then, our membership has grown dramatically! Darlington Cares offers a coordinated approach to corporate social responsibility by utilising the skills, expertise, knowledge and volunteering resources of local businesses and their employees. These are matched to bespoke volunteering projects or existing community groups and charities. Volunteering projects are delivered across three key areas, education, environment and social justice, in Darlington. Our projects support a wide range of needs including, children's reading skills, youth employability, the impact of poverty and environmental improvements. By working collaboratively, Darlington Cares' members can be confident that they are helping to tackle areas of real need. To date, our fantastic employee volunteers have given nearly hours of volunteering in less than five years in over 100 different projects and we are looking for new members to help us increase this number!
