Most engineers, when designing renovations or repairs, will start by visiting the existing building to take photos, measurements, and sketches—a tedious and time-consuming process. Back at the office the engineer will often find that their sketches left out necessary information or that an important detail is just out of frame in a key photo. They must then either revisit the site or, if a deadline is pressing, forge ahead with design in spite of incomplete information. With a 3D building model in hand you won’t need sketches and you won’t have to go back to site. You will have all the information you need on your screen to produce a great design.
