Daventry Contact

Daventry Contact is a charity based in Daventry, Northants. We exist to reduce waste, provide furniture to those living in poverty and support those with mental health or learning difficulties. When people find themselves without a home and living in poverty, the local authority and housing associations help them find accommodation. However, if they are unable to furnish the property, their life remains very difficult, and their focus becomes day-to-day survival. This is where Daventry Contact comes in. We collect donations of used furniture, white goods and household items, storing and repairing them as necessary, and then deliver them to people in need. These people are then able to live more comfortably and so focus on bettering their situation. Indeed, it is not uncommon for people offering to donate furniture to mention that they were once recipients and have since been able to turn their lives around.
