David Bishop Culinary Imagery

David’s interest in photography began at a young age in Pennsylvania when his grandfather gave him his first camera. He enrolled at The School of Visual Arts until landing work as an assistant for a fashion shooter. The next 7 years were spent learning invaluable lessons working every day as a freelance assistant for well over 200 NY photographers. His career took off at the young age of 23, shooting product for advertising but soon evolved with his crafted lighting applied to food & beverage advertising and CPG. Studies of 17th century Flemish masters taught the importance of dimensional light to grab attention and to focus interest on food’s most sensual flavor cues.
