DCA –Veterinary Training Support Center (VTSC) was established in Peshawar/Pakistan in 1988. DCA Livestock Program has been active since 1988 in training Para veterinarians, and Basic Veterinary Workers and conducting different refresher training in Afghanistan. In the last 35 years, it has been the leading agency in intermediate veterinary training. Trainees are trained and instructed in various veterinary professional topics using theoretical, demonstration, and practical sessions. Para veterinarians, Basic Veterinary Workers (BVWs), Assistant Veterinarians, and DVMs are trained at the DCA training centers in regular and refresher courses within a specific period depending on the course type and contents. Para veterinarians follow a 6 consecutive month course (24 Weeks). BVWs study for a month, while the refresher training courses last at least one week up to a maximum of 2 to 6 Weeks.
