Delta Phenomics

Delta Phenomics is an innovative Dutch contract research organization (CRO) specialised in preclinical research on animal behavior. We offer the technology, expertise and facilities to execute research projects, data analysis services, consultancy, and training on behavioral methodology. Our core competencies include behavioral phenotyping of genetically modified rodents and in vivo compound screening for drug discovery and safety pharmacology studies. We combine a longstanding expertise in animal behavior, neuroscience and pharmacology, with a unique automated behavioral testing and data analysis platform. Because all our behavioral tests are automated, the subjectivity of the human observer is eliminated; which gives more objective and reliable data. Our state-of-the-art research facility comprises large animal facilities (>600m2) for rodents. All rooms are maintained under tightly controlled fully climatized conditions, according to the latest standards. We offer flexible behavioral test solutions to meet your needs. They include a wide palette of behavioral assays; including continuous home cage monitoring in the instrumented PhenoTyper cage. The PhenoTyper allows for the 24/7 measurement of behavior for up to months, which cannot be achieved by human observers. The approach is therefore ideally suited to measure long-lasting drug effects or the progression of disease processes. The use of the PhenoTyper minimizes stress induced by transportation and handling, which is a serious confounding factor in behavioral testing. Test environment and measurement methods are completely standardized, which increases the reproducibility of test results. Thanks to in-house research, academic collaborations and licensing agreements, Delta Phenomics can offer a number of unique disease models; both transgenic lines and induced models. These include models for neurodegenerative diseases, pain, depression, anxiety, social behavior and cancer cachexia.
