Brand name: The brand name of Dema Collections is the abbreviation of the designer’s name Despina (De) Manousaki (Ma). • About Dema: Making unique jewellery inspired by literarily everything. Every year a new special collection will be added to the existing one in order to enrich our catalog. Goal of the brand is its continuous progress on designs and ideas. Precious raw materials like silver and gold are our favourite metals. • Designer: Despina is a Berlin based jewellery designer who was born and raised in the island of Crete, in Greece. At the age of 26 she decided to change career, after 7 years of studying and working in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Her passion for creation was always there to remind her that “it’s never late to change your life and follow your dreams”. Dedicated to this mindset, she did a 180 degree turn and devoted herself to Goldsmithing. The inspiration for every collection comes from the art world, nature and everyday-life. Her main goal is the creation of unique jewellery pieces that convey emotions and meanings. “For me, finding inspiration is the most important step in the creation of my jewellery collections. Next comes the challenge of giving life to my ideas through forming metals. I want each piece to be something beautiful and substantial that speaks from the heart.“ • The story of Perspective Collection: 2021 is a special year for all of us, as the pandemic has affected our lives. The theme for the new collection was inspired by this unprecedented situation which we all had to face. The intention was to give an optimistic perspective, leading me to create jewellery that can give courage and hope by wearing it. Hidden behind the organic form of each piece, is the number of the year “21”. The 2 and 1 are intertwined harmoniously to remind us how beautiful and important it is to embrace the people that we love during these difficult times.
