Metal is restored to its original state by certified technicians that gain access to damage from the backside of the panel. Through one push at a time, technicians massage each dent out by pushing on the metal with specialized dent tools. If access can not be gained from the backside of a panel, a process called glue pull repair (GPR) can be used to pull the dent instead of pushing it. During this type of repair, the metal is pulled slightly above the original panel surface. A tapping down process will occur to move the metal back down.
