Founded in 1985 by Denver native Michael Hommel, Designs by Sundown (DBS) is a full-service landscape architecture, construction and maintenance firm specializing in custom residential landscapes. We actively engage with our clients, learning about their lifestyles and goals for their outdoor spaces, brainstorming together to ensure the result is uniquely theirs. From our founding, DBS has focused on two core values – use only the highest quality materials and craftsmanship and back it up with service that exceeds client expectations. Today, we have become one of Denver’s most successful and respected high-end residential landscape firms, equipped to handle all phases of the design and maintenance of amazing outdoor living environments. In the past decade we have won over 60 Excellence in Landscape awards from the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado. Our work has also earned 54 Environmental Improvement awards from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). DBS made its television debut in 2006 by competing and winning on HGTV’s popular reality show, Landscapers’ Challenge. DBS also designed and installed the landscape for HGTV’s “Dream Home 2023” giveaway.
