Submittals may include shop drawings, specifications, technical data, or product samples for various materials and components, which must be approved by the general contractor and the Engineer or Architect of Record before installation. Submittal reviews give your design team a chance to verify that your project is being built with the right parts, thus keeping your project safe, error-free, and on budget. The architect, engineer, contractor, and the owner, or the owner’s representative, should discuss the submittals procedure before construction starts.
