Destructive Steps Dance Association

Our History Since 2009, Destructive Steps has always been an event unifying lovers of Hip Hop culture, across all ages’ races and religion. As it grew, the event expanded internationally and has now become Australia’s largest street dance festival, spreading its influence across the Asia Pacific and bringing together dancers of all forms to Sydney. As a result of its expanding reputation and influence, Destructive Steps in 2015 evolved from being just an event to an association, DSDA, to further help bolster the Sydney dance community and provide support to all its avenues. DSDA aims to do so through connecting its resources and network to individuals and societies within the Sydney dance community and continue to foster a culture of support within the community, allowing it to further flourish and grow for the years to come. Our Mission Statement The Destructive Steps Dance Association has been formed with the intent to help, assist and organise street dance events for the Sydney Street dance community. To promote educational, cultural and creative arts events and festivals that help to further/improve the quality and proliferation of the Sydney Street dance and Hip Hop community. It is what course of action best benefits the community that guides the actions and directions of this association. The association is to be run for the benefit of the community, any and all funding is to be used as such on a cost-recovery basis and strictly not for the profit of members. The association's focus will concentrate on but not limited to- Dance workshops/masterclasses/classes - Dance Programs/Course - Dance contest/competitions - Dance events/festivals - Consultation/Event Management - Social activities related to street dance and Hip Hop culture. In and around though not limited to the Sydney metropolitan area.
